Recent disclosures relating to PHP vulnerabilities have generated questions from organisations assessing potential exposure within their own environments. Following the publication of CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, Sapphire conducted an immediate review of its infrastructure and services to determine any potential impact.

The statement below outlines the actions taken by Sapphire, the findings of our assessment, and the current status of customer-facing services.

Security Update: CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619

Immediately after CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 were disclosed, Sapphire completed a comprehensive review to assess any potential impact across our infrastructure and the services we provide to customers.

PHP was identified within limited elements of our supporting infrastructure, including embedded components within certain systems. As a precaution, the affected systems were immediately taken offline, isolated, and successfully patched.

As part of our response, Sapphire completed the following additional security measures:

  • Completed vulnerability scanning across our infrastructure using the latest available Tenable plugins and vulnerability intelligence.

  • Deployed additional detection analytics within our 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) associated with PHP exploitation.

  • Completed targeted threat hunting across our environment, supported by relevant threat intelligence, to identify any evidence of attempted or successful exploitation.

  • Contacted all key technology partners whose products support our services and confirmed that there is no identified residual risk to Sapphire from their products in relation to these vulnerabilities.

Customer Impact

Following completion of these activities, we have identified no evidence of attempted or successful exploitation affecting Sapphire or the services we provide to our customers.

No action is required from Sapphire customers. We do not anticipate any customer-facing downtime or configuration changes in relation to these vulnerabilities.

Sapphire will continue to monitor for any changes to the threat landscape or newly published intelligence through our 24/7 SOC and threat intelligence capabilities.

While no action is required for Sapphire customers, organisations running PHP within their own environments should ensure they understand where PHP is deployed, assess potential exposure, and verify that appropriate security updates and monitoring are in place.

If you're unsure whether your organisation may be affected, Sapphire's cyber security specialists can help assess your exposure, identify vulnerabilities, and provide guidance on remediation and ongoing monitoring.
