Boole Server

Boole Server™ - Unified Data Protection for your shared information, Product Description

Traditionally information security takes the form of securing computers, devices, networks, etc. and deciding to whom information can or cannot flow. This is done by creating perimeter defence, encrypting machines etc. and constraining information to only flow freely within this perimeter and not-so-freely across this barrier.

However, the majority of information security solutions do not ensure that sensitive files remain protected and controlled once they have been shared, or worse still fail to protect a file if it is negligently or maliciously compromised. The very act of sharing a file means that you lose control over what happens to your information once it has been sent.

Boole Server continuously protects files, across the following 5 areas:

1. Protect
Individual files are 'wrapped' and protected from unauthorised access, wherever they reside: on fixed infrastructure, mobile devices etc. Data is encrypted using a 256-bit cipher with a 2048-bit key

2. Transfer
Files can be either shared from within Boole Server's central data store; or securely transferred in their protected state via any medium (eg. email, USB stick, CD, FTP, etc.)

3. Access
The 'Data Owner' can use Boole Server to manage all the security permissions around a file. For example with a Word document the Data Owner can control actions such as Copy & Paste, Save as, Printing and re-sharing of that file.

4. Control
Security policy can be enforced differently by individual user, i.e. the Data Owner can choose who is able to do what. Even after the data has been shared, the Data Owner can change the security policy for each user, these new permissions will then be immediately applied to the data regardless of where it is stored.

5. Measure
Boole Server maintains a full audit trail of every single activity undertaken on secured data. Providing a complete secured record of who used the information, what was being done, where and when the action took place, enabling you to prove that regulatory controls are enforced.
