Becrypt - Why

Why do organisations deploy encryption products?

Organisations use encryption to protect sensitive data, particularly data that is carried off the premises on mobile devices and on removable media such as USB flash drives. If a mobile device is lost or stolen, encryption ensures that the information it contains cannot be accessed. If an encrypted device is disposed of, the data it contains is unintelligible, even if attempts are made to recover it using specialised data recovery tools. Organisations may also deploy encryption products to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
