BeCrypt provides a range of market-leading security software to protect data at rest on mobile technology. BeCrypt products secure the data on lost or stolen laptops or PDAs by strong authentication and encryption; control the flow of information into and out of an organisation (whether via PDAs or Plug and Play devices) to prevent data leakage and the introduction of malware; and ensure the confidentiality of data stored on removable media by encrypting the media.
Disk Protect - overview
BeCrypt DISK Protect uses encryption and strong authentication to secure data on desktops, laptops, and on removable media such as USB flash drives. An unauthorised user who cannot enter the password is prevented from starting up the computer. If the thief tries to retrieve the data using low-level tools, it remains encrypted and unintelligible. Once a user has been authenticated, DISK Protect operates transparently, decrypting and re-encrypting data on the fly, and standard applications can be used as normal. All data is encrypted, so there is no risk of sensitive information being left unprotected. Encrypted removable media inserted into another computer appears unformatted, and the data cannot be read.
