“There were several factors behind the choice of Sapphire, with the key factors being firstly, in our view, its technical skills and in particular its ability to analyse digital material. Secondly, Sapphire demonstrated great flexibility; it was willing to change its working patterns completely to suit our own.”
Keith Foggon, Head of Digital Forensics, Serious Fraud Office.
Sapphire provides a professional and prompt data recovery service from crashed hard disks and other computer based media.

What steps are involved in data recovery?
Diagnosis
This determines if the hard drive is functioning and what method of recovery may be attempted.
Recovery
There are many different ways to attempt a recovery. No one method works all the time. If it is a "software only" recovery, then the recovery technician can produce a file listing showing all the files that can be recovered. The smart data recovery engineer will usually work on a copy of the client's drive. This way the client's drive is not altered in any way.
Hard disk drives are very sophisticated hardware and software devices and data recovery should only be attempted by a professional data recovery service.
Finding the original table of contents which shows where the files actually exist can sometimes be a simple task, however this isn't typical. Data recovery companies work on fixing the problem in a number of ways. If it's easy, they simply rebuild the file system structure and save those lost files from being overwritten. On the other hand, the drive may have suffered a physical failure such as a circuit board failure, service track failure or head crash.
Sapphire’s data recovery ability has long experience of recovering data from a variety of differing scenarios.
Sapphire can handle situations covering physical damage to water damage, virus damage to malicious user operation. If you’ve just re-installed or upgraded Windows and then remembered that all your mail files have just been overwritten with new data - don’t Panic!
Sapphire can help and recover data from:
Disks
Failed/ Broken hard drives, Servers, USB storage devices
Formatted volumes
Lost Allocation
Virus damage
Deleted data
Corrupt or damaged filesystems (FAT, NTFS, HFS+, EXT2/3/4, Netware 4/5 NSS, BSD FFS, XFS, JFS, HP-UX, AIX, VxFS, etc)
RAID
Corrupt Databases (Exchange, MSSQL, MS Access, Oracle, etc)?
Tape
Broken/Snapped tapes
Fire damaged tapes
Overwritten or re-initialised SDLT, LTO, DDS, AIT, Travan, Onstream, Mammoth, VXA, QIC, SLR and ½” Open Reel tapes.
Misalignment issues
Media Flaws
Data Conversion
Old legacy data is often held on media that is no longer used and in formats that have long since become redundant.
Modern applications often lack the backwards compatibility to correctly interpret old data formats and the hardware that once wrote and read this data has fallen into disrepair or are no longer available.
Sapphire can successfully transfer data from outdated applications and redundant formats onto newer, more efficient platforms
