CLAS

Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG) has developed CESG Listed Advisory Scheme (CLAS), a scheme designed to deliver approved Infosec advice to UK Government. The purpose of the Scheme is to provide a pool of consultants approved to provide Infosec advice to UK government departments and other UK organisations which process sensitive official material.

The primary aim of the Scheme is to ensure that private sector Infosec providers have a good understanding of the risks to official systems, the techniques available to them and current government policy and guidance. The Scheme also aims to make government standard Infosec advice more readily available to the broader UK public sector, such as local government and the health sector.

CLAS is administered and monitored by CESG, who define the standards for qualification as a Listed Adviser. The Scheme provides a programme of information and training for private sector consultants, and those applicants who meet the standard and/or complete appropriate training courses will be certified as "CESG-approved".
